RSCD agent not responding

Perform the steps explained in this topic if your BMC BladeLogic Remote Server Call Daemon (RSCD) Agent has stopped responding:

To resolve the RSCD Agent not responding issue

  1. Verify that the RSCD agent is running.
    For more information about starting and stopping the RSCD Agent, see Starting and stopping the RSCD Agent.
  2. Log on to your target host and review the RSCD logs for errors.
    By default, the RSCD log file is located at /opt/bmc/rscd/log on Linux and at C:\Program Files\BMC Software\RSCD on Microsoft Windows.
  3. If you find errors in the log, correct them and restart the RSCD Agent.
  4. After the RSCD Agent is started, log on to your installer host and confirm that you are able connect to the RSCD Agent using nsh, as shown in the nsh session below:
    
    In this example, the target host is named vw-snj-asp-dv07.
    H:\>nsh
    G2LNVM1-470% cd //vw-snj-asp-dv07
    vw-snj-asp-dv07%
    
  5. If the nsh command succeeds, you can attempt to install the product again.
