Installation order and product dependencies
This topic discusses the best practice installation order that BMC recommends for installing the products in the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management solution. Some products in the solution depend on other products being installed first. When you launch the installer, it validates the products that you select for installation and verifies their dependencies.
If you choose a product that has a dependency, the installer instructs you to first install its dependency. For example, you are prompted to install BMC Atrium Orchestrator - Server, before you install Platform Manager. If the product that you selected depends on a product that is not yet installed, click Previous, select the dependent product, and complete its installation.
After you install the non-dependent products, the products in the Upcoming Installs section automatically move to the Currently Installing section.
Best practice installation order
BMC recommends that you follow the best practice order shown in the following table when installing products. Products are enabled for installation based on their dependencies. For example, the Cloud Database Extensions installation field is enabled when you provide a host name for the BMC AR System Server – Cloud Database Primary installation.
If more than two products meet the product dependencies and are available for installation in the installer ,you can install the products in the same session. However, BMC recommends that you install not more than two products in a session.
