Using the Data Explorer
- From the main screen, click Apps.
- From the Diagnose/Explore box, click Data Explorer.
The Data Explorer appears and it displays the structure of the catalog database in a tree format as shown in the following figure.
- In the ODBM box, from the dropdown list, select an IMS host name.
- In the Alias box, from the dropdown list, select an alias for the selected IMS.
- Click Refresh. The explorer loads the corresponding DBDs, PSBs, and PCBs for the selected alias.
- Select a DBD form the list. The explorer selects the corresponding PSB and PCB.
- Click Load Schema. The explorer loads and displays the catalog database schema as a tree structure.
- Selecting any segment in the tree structure displays information about the lowest-level segment, its root segment, and the leaf node to the root node as shown below.
- Optionally, click Previous or Next to see the information about the previous or next twin segment in the database. If there is no twin segment present, a message is displayed accordingly.
- Optionally, click Add Qualification to add appropriate filters for fetching the data for selected headers, DBDs, or segments as shown below, and click Add.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
