Upgrade notes

This section provides a summary of the key points that you should know if you are upgrading to TrueSight Capacity Optimization 20.02. For information about new features and enhancements added in this release, see 20.02 enhancements.

The prerequisites and upgrade instructions described in the Upgrading topic enable you to upgrade the TrueSight Capacity Optimization components smoothly. Do note these release-specific guidelines:

  • The TrueSight Capacity Optimization 20.02 installation program supports direct upgrades from the two most recent versions of the product, that is versions 11.3.01 and 11.5. If you are running earlier versions of the product, you must perform at least one interim upgrade before you can upgrade to TrueSight Capacity Optimization 20.02.

When performing a phased upgrade from TrueSight Capacity Optimization version 10.7 or 10.7.01, custom views that were created in those versions will not be available after the upgrade. If you want to continue using these custom views, you must create them in the TrueSight console before you upgrade.
View Migration Toolkit is available in the  TrueSight Capacity Optimization community Open link  that might assist in migrating some of the custom views from the TrueSight Capacity Optimization console to the TrueSight console. This  video Open link  explains how to migrate custom views using the View Migration Toolkit.

    Important Disclaimer

The View Migration Toolkit is provided “as is” on the Capacity Optimization community, outside the scope of product maintenance and BMC Support.

For supported upgrade paths, see this topic.

  • TrueSight Capacity Optimization 20.02 is supported with TrueSight Presentation Server 11.3.01 and its service packs (11.3.02 and 11.3.03). For details, see Compatibility matrix.

  • If you have installed Remedy SSO 11.0 or 11.3.01 using the TrueSight Installer, upgrading to version 18.11 or later fails with exceptions. Do the following to avoid this issue:

    1. Log in to your Remedy SSO server and navigate to the <RemedySSO_INSTALL_DIR>/rsso/conf directory.
    2. Open the rssoproperties.conf file.
    3. Set the db.prepackage.type property to false.
    4. Upgrade Remedy SSO to version 18.11 or later. For details, see  Upgrading Remedy Single Sign-On Open link .
    5. After a successful upgrade, reset the db.prepackage.type property to true.
