IRLMGRP keyword

Use the IRLMGRP keyword to provide the IRLM group name for support of Snapshot Copy processing across a sysplex environment.

The utility passes this name to the SNAPSHOT UPGRADE FEATURE for IMS (SUF for IMS) component at Snapshot Copy registration. SUF for IMS uses this name to ensure that each active IRLM in a sysplex has an active XBM subsystem. Snapshot Copy registration fails if SUF for IMS discovers an active IRLM without a supporting XBM subsystem.

Warning

If you specify the IRLMGRP keyword, the Parallel Sysplex Support (PSS) component of XBM must be active. If not, snapshot task failures can occur. For more information, see Sysplex support for Snapshot Copy.

The DBRC share level for the database must be set to 3. Sysplex Snapshot Copy processing is not allowed for share level 1 or 2. Local caching is no longer allowed for share level 3 data sets.

Uses

Optional in the global options module and on the GLBL control statement.

For the value, specify the IRLM group name (1-8 alphanumeric characters) to pass to SUF.
