Integrating overview

With BMC Release Process Management (BRPM), you can build custom integrations with external systems and perform functions in these external systems using BRPM.

See this video (1:54) about how you can use the integration of BRPM that is a component of BMC Release Lifecycle Management Suite with JIRA and Remedy ITSM Suite.

You can integrate with the following external systems:

SystemDescrption
BMC Remedy IT Service Management SuiteThe solution provides out of-the-box IT Information Library (ITIL) service support functionality. BMC Remedy ITSM Suite streamlines and automates the processes around IT service desk, asset management, and change management operations. It also enables you to link your business services to your IT infrastructure to help you manage the impact of technology changes on business and business changes on technology—in real time and into the future.
BMC Application AutomationThe product automates the application release management through the BMC BladeLogic Automation Suite. The BMC Application Automation product shares various core capabilities with the BMC Server Automation product. An installable addon to BMC Application Automation provides the integration of functionalities from BMC Middleware Automation for a special focus on the management of middleware applications such as Java EE application servers.
BMC Release Package and DeploymentThe product is an automation solution for managing deployments and updates of complex business critical applications from Development to Production.
Hudson

The product is an open source continuous integration server. It can perform various tasks like check-out source code, build and test the project, publish the results, and communicate the results to team members.

JIRA

Using integration with JIRA, you can perform different actions, such as

  • Creating or updating an issue
  • Changing and verifying status of an issue
  • Adding a comment
  • Retrieving a list of issues using JQL
TeamCityBy integrating with TeamCity, which is a continuous integration server, you can run builds created on the TeamCity. By using automation steps, you can execute specific builds in a scheduled manner. The automation allows the user to run any type of build type in a TeamCity instance.

You can also create integrations with other systems and use BRPM to perform various tasks in their environments. For more information, see Other integrations

You can perform various functions in the supported external systems by using automation scripts. BMC provides you a default set of ready scripts which you can import and start using directly. You can also create your own new automation scripts and use messaging system to push message notifications in the external system depending on certain event occurrences.

For more information about importing, creating new scripts, and messaging system support, see the following topics:
