Preinstallation procedures for BMC Remedy Single Sign-On

Use the following steps and guidelines before installing BMC Remedy Single Sign-On:

  • Obtain the zipped BMC Remedy Single Sign-On files from the BMC product package via Electronic Product Download (EPD) or the BMC Remedy Single Sign-On DVD.
  • Review  BMC Remedy Single Sign-On System Requirements.
  • Ensure that the Apache Tomcat 7 server is installed. BMC Remedy Single Sign-On installer does not include bundled Tomcat. Hence installation and configuration of the Tomcat server should be performed outside BMC Remedy Single Sign-On and before the installation.
  • The Apache Tomcat 7 server must be configured to run on Java version 7 or above.

  • BMC Remedy Single Sign-On installer is not bundled with JRE. Hence JRE must be installed before the installer runs.
  • Ensure that connection to Oracle RDBMS or Microsoft SQL Server is available from the server where BMC Remedy Single Sign-On is to be installed.

  • Use HTTPs connections to secure your user credentials. To use HTTPS connections, ensure installation of SSL certificates on the Tomcat server (for standalone) or load balancer (for High Availability environment).
