Installing BMC Atrium Core
The installer guides you step-by-step through the installation process. When you start the installer, you can choose one or more features to install at one time. Because certain applications depend on a specific set of features, you must run the installer multiple times to install all of the features in the solution.

Stage 1: Prepare for the installation of BMC Atrium Core

When viewing the latest version of a product on the Electronic Product Download (EPD) site, you see only the components (including licensed add-ons) that are covered under the licenses associated with your Support ID or EPD profile.
Ensure that you download the latest service pack and patch.
|4.||Obtain the BMC Remedy license keys|
Only the BMC Remedy AR System server licenses require keys. Depending on the components that you use, you might need several licenses to activate an application.
Note: You must activate the licenses before installing the applications. See Activate the application licenses.

BMC recommends that you perform checks for all the components you want to install before you proceed to the next stage.
|8.||Download and complete the planning spreadsheet||Before you start installing or upgrading the products, you must gather information about the required parameters that the installer requires for each product. The planning spreadsheet provided in this section helps you to gather the parameter values. To avoid installation errors, refer to this spreadsheet when you run the installation.|

BMC Atrium Core does not provide load-balancing support for BMC Atrium web services components in an AR System server group environment. Instead, you can configure the AR System server group for providing redundancy capabilities to the web services components. To do so, you must update the BMC Atrium web services registry on the secondary servers. See in BMC Atrium Core documentation.
|3.||Install additional language packs||During the BMC Atrium Core installation, the English language pack is installed by default. You can choose to install more language packs after you install BMC Atrium Core.|

Stage 4: Perform the post-installation procedures for BMC Atrium Core
|1.||Perform the post-installation procedures for BMC Atrium Core||BMC recommends that you do a health check as an automated test of installed product features after installing, before installing, or when troubleshooting a feature that does not work. The BMC Atrium Core Maintenance Tool gives you access to the Health Check utility, which automatically detects the installed components and validates whether they have been installed successfully.|
Stage 5: Install Atrium Integrator
Atrium Integrator installation contains installation of the Atrium Integrator server and the Atrium Integrator client. Installing Atrium Integrator is typically part of the full BMC Atrium CMDB installation process.
In a server group environment, Atrium Integrator can be used to distribute the jobs across multiple Atrium Integrator Carte servers.
Stage 6: Perform the post-installation procedures for Atrium Integrator

Stage 8: Install BMC Configuration Drift Management
You must run the installations from the server that is running BMC Remedy AR System, and you must be logged in to that server with sufficient administrator privileges (or non-root for UNIX).
If you are installing Drift Management on an AR System server with an Oracle database, the installation is sometimes stopped because the AR System server times out. Stage 9: Perform the post-installation procedures for BMC Configuration Drift Management
