BMC Atrium SSO as a shared service

This topic provides the following information:

Concept of SSO as a shared service

BMC Atrium Single Sign-On (SSO) as a shared service is a high availability BMC Atrium SSO cluster is implemented as a redundant system with session failover. The BMC Atrium SSO cluster is shared by all the tenants in your environment. In this model, if a node fails, the single sign-on load is transitioned to the remaining servers with minimal interruption. With the BMC Atrium Single Sign-On cluster, a system failure is absorbed by the functional nodes in the cluster.

With BMC Atrium SSO as shared service, you achieve the following benefits:

  • Reliability — High availability with session failover, with minimal interruption.
  • Resource optimization — Ability to reduce the hardware and operational cost by using lesser resources; the same BMC Atrium SSO cluster is used by multiple tenants.
  • Optimum resource utilization: Capability to distribute workload across all BMC Atrium SSO nodes in the cluster.

Note

If you want to install BMC Atrium Single Sign-On 9.0, you must install it before installing the BMC Remedy ITSM Suite platform components.
