Issue while logging in to the BMC Remedy IT Service Management application

Due to a TCP connection leak with the C API, the BMC Remedy AR System server and any other ancillary binary that uses the C API (for example, arsignal.exe, driver.exe, arplugin.exe, etc.) causes the number of TCP ports that are being utilized to grow steadily. Due to this, there are no TCP connection ports available on the system and the system appears to have stopped responding to all clients. Since there are no service login attempts available, the login to the BMC Remedy IT Service Management application fails with the following error message:

There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request.

This issue has been resolved in the BMC Remedy AR System version 8.1.00 patch 2. For more information about the steps for installing the patch, see Installing BMC Remedy AR System 8.1.00.002.

For more information about this issue, see the issue number SW00450386 on BMC Remedy AR System server known and corrected issues from the BMC Remedy Action Request System online documentation. Additional information is available in the Knowledge article KA403677 .
