Installing Help for BMC Configuration Drift Management

After installing BMC Configuration Drift Management, you should install the Help system to enable users to access it by clicking the Help button in one of the Drift Management consoles or forms.

Making help available to your users

To make the Help system available to all of the application's users, you must install it on a system that is running a web server. For information about supported web servers, see product compatibility information on the Customer Support website at .


You must run the Help installer locally on the web server system onto which you are installing Help system.

Before you begin, ensure the following prerequisites are met:

  • BMC Remedy Action Request (AR) System Server is installed and running.
  • Drift Management is installed.
  • Web server is running.

You can install Drift Management Help on a Windows or UNIX (Solaris, HP-UX, HP-UX Itanium, AIX, or Linux) platform. How you install the applications depends on the type of operating system your host machine is running. You can use either of the following methods to install Help for Drift Management:


When you are installing Help, if the AR System Server is running on an Oracle database, it might time out. If this problem occurs, see Installing help if the AR System server is slow (Oracle database only).
