Downloading the installation files

You obtain the BMC Helix Service Management installation files by downloading them from the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) website.

Download the following installation artifacts:

  • Git repositories and artifacts that are used for BMC Helix Service Management installation

  • Deployment manager that is used for BMC Helix Platform Common Services installation
  • Database dump files

  • BMC Helix Container Access Key that is used to access the container images hosted on BMC Docker Trusted Registry (DTR) containers.bmc.com

BMC Helix Service Management installation does not support installation of BMC Helix Virtual Agent and BMC Helix Integration Service.

Before you begin

  • Make sure that your system meets the system requirements.
  • Ensure that you can log on to  EPD Open link by using your Support user ID and password. You might also be prompted to complete the Export Compliance Form. If you are accessing this site for the first time, create a new EPD profile to specify the languages and platforms that you want to download. For assistance with EPD, see EPD site help Open link .

Installation files

Select the EPD link to download the product installation files.

BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem Open link

The link downloads the following products and components:

  • BMC Helix Service Management
  • BMC Helix Platform services

To download the Git repositories and container access key

  1. Log in to EPD Open link .
    You must log in with your BMC Support ID.
  2. Select Product Downloads > Product Download Tool.
  3. On the All Products tab, in the search box, search for the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem product.
  4. Click the 22.1.06 product version.

    Important

    Disable the pop up blocker. If the pop up blocker is enabled, it may block the downloading of files.

  5. In the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Container Access Key, and click Download.

    The
    container-token.bmc file is downloaded. The file contains the BMC Docker Trusted Registry (containers.bmc.com) token. This token is required as a password to pull images from containers.bmc.com during setting up a Harbor registry or when performing the installation.
  6. In the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Innovation Suite & Service Management Apps Version 22.1.06, and click Download.

    The BMC_Helix_Innovation_Suite_And_Service_Management_Apps_Version_22.1.06.zip file contains the following files:
    • BMC_Remedy_Deployment_Manager_Configuration_Release_22.1.06.zipThis file contains the installation artifacts.
    • BMC_Remedy_Deployment_Engine_Setup_22.1.06.zipThis file contains BMC Deployment Engine set up files.
    • dtr_pull_push.sh and push_to_custom_repo.shThese files contain the scripts to synchronize your Harbor repository with BMC Helix Innovation Suite and BMC Helix Platform services container images in BMC DTR.
  7. Download the BMC Helix Platform services deployment files based on the BMC Helix Platform services version that you want to use.

    The BMC Helix Platform Services for Service Management package contains the same common services and data lake (BMC Helix Platform Common Services) that is a part of the BMC Deployment Manager deployment. If you have already installed BMC Helix IT Operations Management (BMC Helix ITOM), do not download this package.

    • To use BMC Helix Platform Common Services 24.1.00, in the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Platform Services for Service Management Version 24.1.00, and click Download

      The helix-on-prem-deployment-manager-24.1.00-103.sh file that contains the Deployment Manager is downloaded.
    • To use BMC Helix Platform Common Services 23.4.00, in the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Platform Services for Service Management Version 23.4.00, and click Download

      The helix-on-prem-deployment-manager-23.4.00.sh file that contains the Deployment Manager is downloaded.
    • To use BMC Helix Platform Common Services 23.2.02, in the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Platform Services for Service Management Version 23.2.02, and click Download

      The helix-on-prem-deployment-manager-23.2.02.sh file that contains the Deployment Manager is downloaded.

  8. (If you are using BMC Helix Platform Common Services 23.2.02) In the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Innovation Suite Performance Hotfix Version 22.1.06, and click Download.

    The BMC_Helix_Innovation_Suite_Performance_Hotfix_Version_22106.zip file contains the following files:
    • ITSM_REPO.zipThis file contains the latest BMC Helix Service Management deployment size templates.
    • itom-predeploy-hotfix-23.2.02.002-10.tar.gz—This file contains the hotfix for Kubernetes 1.26 support and the latest BMC Helix Platform Common Services deployment size templates.
  9. (If you are using BMC Helix Platform Common Services 23.4.00) Perform the following steps:
    1.  In the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Innovation Suite Disaster Recovery Hotfix Version 22.1.06, and click Download.

      The BMC_Helix_Innovation_Suite_Disaster_Recovery_Hotfix_Version_22106.zip file contains the ITSM_REPO.zip file. The
      ITSM_REPO.zip file contains the latest BMC Helix Service Management deployment size templates and disaster recovery support.
    2. In the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Platform Services for Service Management Hotfix Version 23.4.00.001, and click Download.

      The helix-on-prem-deployment-manager-hotfix-23.4.00.001.tar.gz file is downloaded.
      The Proactive problem management (PPM) module of BMC Helix ITSM Insights is unavailable if you use BMC Helix Service Management version 22.1.06 with BMC Helix Platform Common Services version 23.4.00 on an SSL-enabled restricted environment. The hotfix helix-on-prem-deployment-manager-hotfix-23.4.00.001.tar.gz contains a fix for this issue.
  10. Download the database dump files based on the database type you want to use.
    • To use a Microsoft SQL Server database, in the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Service Management MSSQL DB Dump Version 22.1.06, and click Download

      The MSSQL_221006_DBDUMP.zip file that contains the Microsoft SQL Server database dump files is downloaded.
    • To use an Oracle database, in the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Service Management Oracle DB Dump Version 22.1.06, and click Download.

      The ORACLE_221006_DBDUMP.zip file that contains the Oracle database dump files is downloaded.
    • To use a PostgreSQL database, in the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Service Management Postgres DB Dump Version 22.1.06, and click Download.

      The POSTGRES_221006_DBDUMP.zip file that contains the PostgreSQL database dump files is downloaded.

      Important

      You do not need to download and restore database dump files while setting up a PostgreSQL database. The BMC Helix Service Management installation pipeline automatically restores a backup for a PostgreSQL database. You can download the database dump files and use for manual restore in case of any failures with the automated restore.

  11. In the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select AR System Clients: Developer Studio, Data Import Version 22.1.06 - Windows, and click Download.

    The ARSuiteKitDeveloperWindows22.1.06.zip file that contains the AR System clients installer is downloaded.
