Uninstalling BMC Service Level Management components

The following procedures describe how to uninstall the BMC Service Level Management components and BMC SLM Collector. If you are uninstalling BMC Service Level Management components, the uninstallation process uninstalls only the file system; the uninstallation process does not remove the BMC Service Level Management database (BMC AR System database) from your system. Your BMC Service Level Management data, including BMC Remedy Action Request (AR) System integrations and structures, remain intact.

Before you uninstall BMC Service Level Management, ensure that you have rolled back the deployment packages for applications:

  1. BMC Service Level Management
  2. BMC Service Request Management
  3. BMC Remedy ITSM

To uninstall BMC Service Level Management on Microsoft Windows

    1. Open the Control Panel.
    2. Select Add or Remove Programs.
    3. Select BMC Service Level Management.
    4. Click Change/Remove.

To uninstall BMC Service Level management on UNIX

    1. Go to the BMC Service Level Management installation directory.
    2. Change directories to <BMC Service Level Management Installation_directory>/UninstallBMCSLM
    3. Run uninstall.bin.

Remove SLM Collection Point instances

  2. Delete the SLM Collection Point folder.

Remove BMC SLM Collector configurations from AR Server

  2. From the armonitor.cfg/conf file on all the servers in your server group, delete the slmcollsvc code line and save the file.
  3. From the AR System Server Group Operation Ranking form, delete the SLM Collector record.

Remove the SLM Collector installation and file system

Note

Ensure that no other web applications are running on that instance.

  1. Run the UninstallSlmWrapper script to remove the Service/Daemon process.
    • (Unix): <WEBAPP_ROOT>/bin/UninstallSlmWrapper.sh
    • (Windows)<WEBAPP_ROOT>/bin/UninstallSlmWrapper.bat
  2. Stop the AR server.
  3. Delete the daytona folder from <TOMCAT_HOME>/webapps/.
  4. (Optional) Uninstall or remove the Tomcat instance.

For Mid-Tier:

It is recommended to move it out of the web application server to a backup directory.
  3. Start the service to run the web application server.
