Selecting trace data for retention


If a transaction matches the selection criteria, it will be traced. Exception filters are used when the transaction terminates to determine if the trace data should be kept to be displayed in the online trace buffer or the trace log data set. They can be used to

  • Detect occurrences of specific exception conditions
  • Limit the amount of buffer or DASD storage required by retaining only the transactions you want to keep for analysis

If you specified Y in the Exception Filters field on the Start CICS Trace Request dialog, the CICS Trace Exception Filters dialog is displayed.
