Version 2.2.02.000

This topic contains information about updates in service pack 2 (product version 2.2.02.000) and provides instructions for downloading and installing the patch. The topic includes the following sections:

Contents of the patch

This patch consists of the following improvements:

Job approvals of BNA operations

Threat Director now lets you set up approvals for operations that run in BMC Network Automation (BNA). You can require job approval through BMC Remedy ITSM Change Management if you integrate BladeLogic Portal with BMC Atrium Orchestrator.

For more information, see Creating a Remediation operation - Threat Director.

Only one connection to BMC Atrium Orchestrator is possible. If BladeLogic Portal is connected to both BMC BladeLogic Server Automation and BMC Network Automation, the same connection to BMC Atrium Orchestrator applies to both products.

To use job approvals with BNA operations, you must be running BMC Network Automation version 8.9.02 Hotfix 7 or later.

Ports included in vulnerability data

The Actionable Vulnerabilities list on the Operator Dashboard now shows port data. If a vulnerability is associated with a particular port, the port number appears in the Actionable Vulnerabilities list. Showing port data allows you to differentiate between a vulnerability that might be associated with one port and not another. Of course, some vulnerabilities are not associated with any ports. For these, the Port column shows a dash.

When you export data from the Operator Dashboard, the export includes port data.

The Remediations page of the Remediation wizard also shows port information.

New prerequisite for upgrades

Before you can perform an upgrade, you must manually edit a setting for Unicode support in an XML file. This requirement was introduced in version 2.2.01. For more information, see Upgrading.

Corrected defects

See Known and corrected issues for a list of defects fixed in this version.

Installing the patch as a fresh product installation

After downloading the patch installation file using the procedure described above, perform a fresh installation by following the instructions in Installing.

Upgrading to the patch

After downloading the patch installation file using the procedure described above, the steps needed to upgrade depend on your current version and the configuration of your current deployment. The following table lists the possible paths. Note that the primary difference between a compact deployment and a small, medium, or large deployment is that a compact deployment installs the BladeLogic Portal server and the DCA Index Server on the same machine, while all other configurations install a DCA Index Server on a separate machine.

Installation of a stand-alone DCA Index Server was introduced in version 2.2. No upgrade procedure exists for versions of the stand-alone DCA Index Server earlier than 2.2.

No upgrade is provided for BladeLogic Portal versions older than 2.1.00.
