Administering
As an administrator for the portal, your primary responsibilities are to manage security groups, users, and sites. Typically, most of these actions occur during initial configuration of the portal, but you may also perform some of these tasks on an ongoing basis.
To be classified as a portal administrator, a user must belong to a security group that is associated with a BMC Server Automation role that has been granted the BL_Administration authorization. Without that authorization, the capabilities of the administrator are not available to you in the portal.
Obtaining release information
To determine the server that is hosting BMC Server Automation (BSA) or BMC Network Automation (BNA), click About at top right. A window identifies the server to which you are connected (either BSA or BNA) and its release level. The window also shows the current release level of BladeLogic Portal.
