Forming an alias name

It can be challenging to remember the purpose of forms in the BMC Helix ITSM application. BMC Helix Data Manager provides meaningful alias names for all of the forms in the out-of-the-box application that are intended to simplify the process of managing relationship sets. For example, "COM:Company" has the alias name "Company," and "HPD:Help Desk" has the alias name "Incident."

To enable alias names

1. From the navigation bar, select Data Migration > Migration Packs.
2. Select a migration pack.
3. Click the Included Forms tab.
4. Select the Use Alias Names option from the drop-down menu at the top of the tree.

This setting is persistent between logins and applies to all trees shown in the BMC Helix Data Manager Workbench.
