This topic presents announcements for current version of BMC Database Automation (BDA). These changes can affect the way in which you configure or run the installed version of the product, or how you plan the deployment of future versions.

Support for platforms, databases, and browsers

The following databases, OSs, and browsers are no longer supported:

Oracle Solaris 8

IBM AIX 5.3

Microsoft Windows 2000

Microsoft Windows 2003

SuSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 9 

Microsoft Internet Explorer 7

Microsoft Internet Explorer 8

Microsoft Internet Explorer 9

Microsoft Internet Explorer 10

Additionally, there is no longer Manager support for servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux release 4.  

Support for Application Schemas

Beginning with BDA 8.8, Application Schema functionality is being deprecated and is no longer supported.

Note

Application Schema operations can still be performed in BDA 8.9; however, this functionality will be removed in a future version.

Deprecated support for operating system versions from a future release

Support for the following operating systems will be deprecated from the next release of the product:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5
  • Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Windows Server 2008
