Upgrading a Standalone Manager
This topic describes how to upgrade the Manager software on a BMC Database Automation (BDA) environment with a single Manager.
Before you begin
You must have previously performed the steps in Preparing-for-upgrade.
To upgrade a Standalone Manager
- Navigate to the directory in which you downloaded the service pack or patch and use the tar command to extract the media:
tar xvzf <media>. - Verify that the following dependent services are running using the service command:
<service name> status- postgresql
- dmanager
- mtd
- httpd
- Export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/app/clarity/lib.
- Run the following commands:service mtd stopservice dmanager stoprm /app/clarity/lib/libgcc_s.so.1
Run the following script as root:
./update.shThis script upgrades the existing Manager RPMs and completes the Manager upgrade.
The new version of BDA is displayed in the BDA Version section of the Configuration > System Information page in the GUI.

If necessary, update your agents with the latest software.
If necessary, upgrade your Command Line Tools with the latest software.
