Approving jobs that are pending approval

When BMC Database Automation is configured to use BMC Remedy IT Service Management (ITSM) Change Management to track and control provisioning, patching, and Action jobs, a job is approved before it is run. At times, it might be necessary to bypass the normal Change Management process and approve a pending job so that it can be run. This page describes how to approve a BMC Database Automation job that is currently waiting to be approved in BMC Remedy ITSM.

To approve jobs that are pending approval, do the following:

1. In the Context Frame, select Jobs.
2. In the Jobs listing, select Pending Approval from the Status field to filter the list.
3. Click the title of the job you want to approve.
4. In the Job Summary page, click Approve.
5. In the Job Information page, review the information to confirm that this is the job that you want to approve.
6. Click Approve.

If this job is scheduled, the status of the job is changed to Scheduled.
If this job is not scheduled, the status of the job is changed to In Progress.
