? | HELP

Requests the command syntax from HELP.

CPC

Displays information about a local CPC.

IBYCLASS

If the appropriate AE Migration Option is set in the active SLM policy to limit executing jobs by class using the JES2 initiator count for that class, IBYCLASS displays the number of JES2 initiators assigned to each job class.

JOB

Displays information about specific job managed by SLM. The short form of this keyword is J.

  • jobnumber The JES2 job number of the job to be displayed.
  • 'jobname' - The job name of the job to be displayed, enclosed in apostrophes.
JESPLEX [ALL | member | *]

Requests a display of SLM status and constraint information for one or more JESplex members. May be abbreviated as 'JPX'.

  • ALL - Indicates that information for all members of the JESplex is to be displayed. This is the default.
  • member - Indicates that information about a specific member of the JESplex is to be displayed.
  • Indicates that information about the ambient JESplex member is to be displayed.
MULTIPLEX

Requests a display of Country Multiplex Pricing (CMP) information on LPAR Set usage across all CPCs. May be abbreviated as 'MPX'.

MULTIPLEX NODES

Requests a display of connections to other JESplexes used to exchange CMP LPAR Set usage across the multiplex.

OPP

Requests a display of the status of Online Performance Protection and the monitored service classes.

POLICY($ACTIVE | policyname)

Requests a display of information about a Policy in the Automation File.

  • $ACTIVE - Requests a display of information about the active Policy.
  • policyname - Requests a display of of information about a specific Policy.

QBYCLASS

Displays the count of SLM managed jobs awaiting execution by original, non-SLM job class (the class to which the job would have been queued if it were not SLM managed).

By default, all queued SLM managed jobs are counted.  You can also specify that only General Services ("GS") or Production Services ("PS") jobs are to be counted.

SC [ACTIVE | ALL | serviceclassname]

Request a display of current performance information about WLM service classes defined in the active Policy (for use by General Services and/or PCS) for the system on which the command is entered.

SG

Requests a display of information about a Service Group in the active Policy.

  • control-center - Is the Control Center to be displayed.
  • type - Is the Type of the Service Group to be displayed.

SLM D MULTIPLEX LONG adds more information to the multiplex display. For each Sysplex/JESplex listed for every LPAR Set and CPC combination, there is an additional line showing the checksum of the LPAR names and the number of LPARs defined as being in that LPAR Set and the CMP limit specified in the SLM Policy on that Sysplex/JESplex. This is intended to help track down inconsistent definitions when ACM issues warning messages about inconsistent LPAR Set definitions.

The SHORT parameter leaves out the Sysplex/JESplex information, displaying only the CPC information for each LPAR Set.

The SETS parameter shows only the information for each LPAR Set without CPC or Sysplex/JESplex information.

The SET parameter allows the specification of a single LPAR Set name. Only information for that LPAR Set will be displayed. The SHORT or LONG parameters may be used along with SET.

This response shows the combined 4-hour average and 5-minute interval average usage for each CMP LPAR Set and the breakdown of the usage across CPCs. For further detail see the documentation for message DTM8514I in the ThruPut Manager Messages manual.

SLM D MULTIPLEX NODES displays the current connections to other JESplexes in the multiplex. The LOCAL parameter may be used to display only connections within the current Sysplex. The REMOTE parameter results in displaying only those connections with JESplexes in other Sysplexes (if any).

Here is a sample response:

/SLM D QBYCLASS

The QBYCLASS operand returns the count of SLM managed jobs awaiting execution by original, non-SLM job class (the class to which the job would have been queued if it were not SLM managed).

TMSLMBI5 B PI:N/A  Dly:N/A ADly:N/A  U:N/A ACPU:1.17% AS:1.0 P:1

In this example, ten active Service Classes are listed. For each the following data is displayed:

  • Number of periods in the Service Class
  • Current Performance Index
  • Percentage time work in Service Class was delayed
  • Percentage of WLM unknown delays
  • Available CPU at the importance level of the Service Class
  • Current "color" assigned to the Service Class by SLM is G(reen) - Excellent performance, B(lue), Y(ellow), O(range), or R(ed) - Very poor performance
  • Number of address spaces running in that Service Class

For multi-period Service Classes, a second line displays the current distribution of workload across periods as calculated by SLM.

/SLM D SG HUMANR PROD

This command requests a display of the Service Group HUMANR PROD, and results in a display resembling:
