Display Before and After Jobs

The display command provides the necessary facility to display jobs that are under the control of JCS operating in the B&A mode.

A JCS DISPLAY command without any keywords results in a display of JCS statistics.

Scope: JES2 Node

Duration: One time effect.

Requests the command syntax from HELP.

BATCHES

Displays the different JCS Batches and the number of jobs in each Batch.

BATCH

Displays detailed information for a particular Batch.

  • batch-name - A one or two level Batch Name.
HELD

Indicates that all jobs that are in JBS hold status are to be displayed.

The short form of this command is H.

JOBS

Displays a list of all the jobs under the control of JCS.

JOB

Displays detailed information about a particular job.

The short form of this command is J.

  • jobnumber - The JES2 job number of the job to be displayed.
  • 'jobname' - The name of the job to be displayed, enclosed in apostrophes.
WITH

Displays a summary of jobs that have WITH dependencies.

Example:

To display WITH dependencies:

/JCS DISPLAY WITH

A typical response:

DTM6420I JCS DISPLAY
JOB2178 TESTJOBA WITH TESTJOBB * AWAITING EXECUTION

The asterisk indicates that the required job is not executing.
