? | HELP

Requests the command syntax from HELP.

AGENT

Indicates that an Agent or subset of Agents is to be displayed.

The short form for this keyword is A.

  • agent-name - A valid Agent name.
    When a single Agent name is provided, all the jobs that are "bound" to it are listed.
  • name-pattern - The display command allows the use of name patterns, where the wild card characters '*' and '?' can be used in either of the two qualifiers. Any Agent name that matches the pattern is then displayed.
AGENTS

Indicates that all Binding Agents are to be displayed.

DETAILS

Requests detailed information about Binding Agents, such as where it is active, its scope, and any notes that have been added.

GLOBAL

Requests a display of only those Agents with the GLOBAL attribute.

XMIT

Requests a display of only those Agents with the XMIT attribute.

XMIT(node)

Requests a display of only those Agents that are transmitting to a specific node.

  • node - Represents a valid JES2 node name.
SYS(system | * | ALL)

Specifies the systems for which you want Agents displayed. Only active Agents are displayed.

  • system - Represents a four character JES2 system id.
  • *  Represents the system on which the command was entered.
  • ALL - Indicates that all systems in the node are to be displayed.

Examples:

The JBS DISPLAY command summarizes each Agent in a display request on a single line:

/JBS DISPLAY AGENTS

generates a display of Agents and their status:

DTM6420I JBS DISPLAY
BIND.AGENT1      - INACTIVE
BIND.AGENT2      - ACTIVE GLOBALLY
BIND.AGENT3      - ACTIVE GLOBALLY
COMPILER.SAS     - ACTIVE ON SYS2
XMIT.APPLIC1     - ACTIVE ON S001,S002,S003,S004,S007,S010+

A plus sign (+) following the list of systems indicates that the Agent is active on additional systems. To get the complete list of systems, display the Agent specifying the DETAILS keyword:

/JBS DISPLAY AGENT XMIT.APPLIC1 DETAILS

The resulting display looks like this:

DTM6420I JBS DISPLAY
XMIT.APPLIC1     - STATUS=(RESERVED,ACTIVE)
SCOPE=(PERM,XMIT,MULTIPLE)
                  ACTIVE ON S001,S002,S003.S004.S007,S010
                         - S011,S012,S014
                   TRANSMIT to TORONTO
    LAST ACTION: MAY 5 13:16 BY SDSFP2T1
                 DEACTIVATED ON S008
                 Note(Requested by IO Control)

If an Agent has been activated globally, but also has been activated on specific systems, the GLOBAL indicator in a display for that Agent is precede by an asterisk (*). The systems on which it has been activated specifically are shown in the SUSPENDED ACTIVATE line that follows. For example, the command:

/JBS D AGENT BIND.AGENT3

generates a display with full details for the Agent:

DTM6420I JBS DISPLAY
BIND.AGENT3      - STATUS=(ACTIVE,*GLOBAL)
                  SCOPE=(PERM,UNIQUE,GLOBAL)
                * SUSPENDED ACTIVATE ON S001,S003
    LAST ACTION: MAY 17 17:32 BY SDSFP2T1
                 ACTIVATED ON S003

If this Agent is deactivated globally, these suspended activates will no longer be suspended and will become effective.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
