Product

BMC Compuware ThruPut Manager

Version

18.02.00

Date

A serious problem in the listed product requires immediate attention.

Issue

For installations running ThruPut Manager 18.02 TMT7123 or earlier, a catastrophic abend might occur in JES2 and JES2 does not restart.  The initial symptom is a JES2 catastrophic abend (S0C4) in DTMJ2MV7 module, however JES2 recovers. The abend might occur on multiple members of the JES2 MAS. The JES2 $HASP088 message displays the failing module as DTMJ2MV7 with the FAILING INSTR x'91131000'.

While JES2 recovers, subsequent catastrophic abends $DCB, $Q06, or other S0C4s within JES2 might occur and JES2 terminates and fails to  restart.

A sample $HASP088 message from the initial abend follows:

HASP088 JES2 ABEND ANALYSIS 182
$HASP088 ------------------------------------------------------

Apply the identified APAR for the appropriate TM level and follow the installation directions included in the APAR. If JES2 has terminated, then only a JES2 restart is required after the LLA Refresh or Update.
