We are releasing version 21.01 of the BMC Compuware Strobe product.

Technical notes

This section describes the technical notes applicable to this version:

  • Global Monitoring atleast requires CES 20.07.02 (iStrobe) to be able to accept the data.
  • Strobe 21.01 requires Common Parmlib Version 2.
  • Strobe's QUEUE, GROUP, and AUTOSTROBE data set formats have changed. If you are not starting with new data sets, you must run the migration utility.
  • Execute the $07ALSTR job during the upgrade to pick up any updates to the data set allocations or startup procedures.

To download this version of the product from the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) website, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Product Downloads in BMC Support Central.

    Important

    If the Export Compliance And Access Terms page is displayed, enter the relevant data and click Continue.

  2. Click either of the following interfaces and perform the relevant steps:
    • Product Download Tool

      Important

      • On the EPD web page, Licensed Products is selected by default.
      • You must enable pop-ups for this web page in your browser.


      1. Browse the list of products and click BMC Compuware Strobe. The supported versions of the product are displayed.

        Tips

        • You can search for the product in the Search for Product field.
        • If you have marked a product as your favorite, click Favorites.
      2. Click 21.01 under the product name.
        A new browser tab opens containing all downloadable files for this version.
      3. Select the necessary files and click Download.
    • Legacy EPD Tool

      Important

      On the EPD web page, Products is selected by default.

      1. Browse the list of products and click BMC Compuware Strobe. The BMC Compuware Strobe dialog box is displayed with the Version field set to 21.01.

        Tips

        • Type the product name in the Enter product name field and click Go to filter your product.
        • If you have marked a product as your favorite, click Show Favorites.
      2. Select the necessary files and click Download.
