Configuring mobile device management
Mobile device management enables you to configure, manage, and control the mobile devices that employees use to access enterprise data. Before you invite users to enroll their mobile devices, you must configure mobile device management.
Mobile device management supports Apple and Android mobile devices. There are major differences in the way that the devices are managed, and the configuration reflects this. For example, to manage Apple devices, mobile device management manages the actual devices, though for Android devices, mobile device management uses a Google service account to interact with the Android Management API which then controls the devices. Note
The following restrictions apply to Apple devices only:
- Mobile device management for Apple devices does not support IPV6. You must use IPV4.
It not possible to manage Apple devices if FIPS is activated.
