Recording a remote control session via web console

BMC Client Management enables you to record a remote control session. You can store the recording as an audit of the session, or as a learning or coaching aid.

To record a remote control session, proceed as follows:

  1. On the BMC Client Management console, click Remote Control.
  2. Search for a device.
  3. To start a remote control session, either double-click a device or click next to a device.
    Remote control sessions starts.
  4. Click  from the toolbar to start the recording.
  5. Click  from the toolbar to stop the recording.
  6. Close the remote control session.

To view the recorded videos, click Recordings on the BMC Client Management console. A list of all the recorded videos is displayed. You can download the video. You can also lock it to prevent it being deleted.

To end remote sessions

BMC Client Management displays a session popup when a device is remotely controlled. Note that Allow End Session parameter must be enabled if end users must be given the ability to disconnect remote sessions.

The end user can choose to end a remote session of a particular administrator by clicking End session.  

Important

If a super-administrator admin remotely controls a device, BMC Client Management does not display that remote session on the popup.
