Step 13. Specify data set name for generated JCL

The screen shown in the following figure is displayed after you press Enter in the previous step.

Specifying data set for installation JCL

                            BMC Installer
Command ===> __________________________________________________ Scroll ===> PAGE
Press Enter to continue or PF3 to return to previous panel.

Enter the Dataset Name of a PDS to store the JCL generated from this dialog.
hlq.CPWR.INSTLIB                                File exists
DO YOU WANT TO OVERWRITE EXISTING JCL?     NO

Please ensure that all variables are correct before pressing Enter.

Once you press Enter, SMP/E jobs required for the install are created
in the above dataset.
  1. Enter the data set name to store the JCL generated for the SMP/E install for the selected product(s).
This data set should be a Fixed Blocked 80-byte PDS. If the data set does not exist, the data set name entered must be a valid data set name you are authorized to create on TSO. This field defaults to the data set name you used during a previous install using this BMC Installer instance. Otherwise, it defaults to the data set name you specified for the Table Repository in the Maintenance JCL Members for ISPF Dialog table.
Make a note of the data set name:

    ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

  2. The following prompt displays only if the data set already exists and includes members with generated JCL. Respond to the prompt:
DO YOU WANT TO OVERWRITE EXISTING JCL?
    NO
(Default) Do not overwrite. Specify a different data set to save the JCL generated for the SMP/E install for the selected product(s) and preserve the previously generated JCL. Then press Enter to check the newly specified data set.
    YES
Overwrite any previously generated JCL in the specified data set.
  3. Ensure all variables on the previous screens have been entered correctly.
  4. Press Enter.
The JCL customization process begins and a list of the installation jobs created in the specified data set is displayed in the following figure:

Additional members $10CPYAC, $10CPYIM, $10CPYIW, and $10CPYQF are only created when installing BMC AMI DevX Abend-AID, BMC COPE, BMC AMI DevX Code Pipeline, and/or BMC AMI DevX Performance Test for mainframe servers:

    • $10CPYAC is only created when installing BMC AMI DevX Abend-AID Common. This job will copy the BMC AMI DevX Abend-AID Common sample file to a separate data set for use during product customization. If this job was previously run for a different BMC AMI DevX Abend-AIDproduct with the same release level, you should not submit this job. Refer to the

BMC AMI DevX Abend-AID Installation and Configuration

       guide.

    • $10CPYIM is only created when installing BMC COPE. This job will copy the SMP/E BMC COPE target libraries to your BMC Installer system runtime libraries. Refer to the BMC COPE for IMS Base System Installation and Configuration.
    • $10CPYIW is only created when installing BMC AMI DevX Code Pipeline Release 17.02 or earlier. This JCL is no longer needed for BMC AMI DevX Code PipelineRelease 18.02 and higher. This job will copy the BMC AMI DevX Code Pipeline customization sample members to a separate data set for use during product customization. Refer to the BMC AMI DevX Code Pipeline Installation and Customization Guide.
    • $10CPYQF is only created when installing BMC AMI DevX Performance Test. This job will copy the relevant SMPE product files to a separate data set for use during product customization. Refer to the BMC AMI DevX Performance Test Installation and Customization Guide.
    • ZIIPINIT is only created when installing Enterprise Common Components (ECC) Release 16.05 or earlier. This JCL is no longer needed for ECC Release 17.02 and higher. Refer to the section Implementing the BMC AMI zIIP Enablement servicein the  BMC AMI Enterprise Common Components Installation and Configuration Guide for instructions on how to initialize the BMC AMI zIIP Enablement service for use by  BMC AMI products.
