DCL (Declare Statements) - Row commands

The DCL row command generates declare statements (DCLGENs). This command is valid for tables and views. Unlike Db2-generated DCLGEN statements, File-AID for Db2 Object Administration includes, if applicable, NOT NULL with DEFAULT statements.

When DCL is executed, two parameter windows open. The outer window has parameters for generating the statements. The inner window has the definition of the table or the view. Edit the parameters and press <Go> with the cursor on the outer window to generate the statements. Then, use the SAVE command to save the statements into your default DCLGEN PDS which you can then include in a program. Use the SQL INCLUDE statement to insert the declarations into your source program.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
