      • Memory: 8 GB minimum

Important

If converting a database from a previous release, approximately 25% of the size of the existing database is used during the conversion.

A link to Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express and to the additional software required to install it is provided on the DevEnterprise installation browser.

The Metadata Server initialization process will create a database for you if one does not exist. You have the option to create your own database to be used by the Metadata Server.

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express databases are limited to 4 GB of data. This should be sufficient for at least 2 million entities, including programs, data items, jobs, and data sets, which should allow you to use the Metadata Analyzer for many applications. If you require more space for your applications, you will need to either set up multiple repositories, or use a Microsoft SQL Server repository, which has a 1,048,516 TB limitation. Important

These requirements are for a Typical installation and may vary depending on the number of Metadata Analyzer collectors concurrently running. Contact BMC Customer Support if you do not meet these minimum requirements or have questions regarding the requirements.

DASD space requirements

The mainframe install image is now a part of Enterprise Common Components. See to the BMC AMI Enterprise Common Components Installation and Configuration Guide for DASD space requirements.
