Adding a new TCP/IP static port definition

To add a new TCP/IP static port definition, follow these steps:

1. In the SETPORT view, on the COMMAND line, type ADD and press Enter. 

   The Add TCPIP Static Port Definitions dialog is displayed.

2. Specify the field values in the dialog.

   To view the information about the fields in this dialog, on the COMMAND line, type Help and press Enter, or press F1.

   Field	Description
   PORT definition name	(Required) Specify a unique 1- to 12-character name.
   Port #	(Required) Specify a TCP/IP port number for the BMC AMI Ops product displayed in the Product field.
   Port # (End)	To define a range of port numbers, follow these steps: In the Port # field, type the end port number. In the Port # (End) field, type the end port number. Make sure that the specified port number is greater than the start port number in the Port # field. Warning Note If you set the Port # (End) field value to 0 or blank, only the single static port set in the Port # field is used.
   Product	(Required) Specify the name of the BMC AMI Ops product. To set this field value, you can also refer the Product field value displayed in the PLEXACT view. If you set the field with an * (asterisk): The current TCP/IP static port definition is used as a default. For BMC AMI Ops products whose TCP/IP static port definition is not defined has started, the default definition is used. To define the TCP/IP static port for a CAS, use the CASDEF view.
   Context	(Required) Specify the target context associated with the BMC AMI Ops product. You can also refer to the Context field value displayed in the PLEXACT view to set this value. For BMC AMI Ops products that attach $SSI service point using TCM (Target Consolidate Mode), (such as BMC AMI Ops Monitor for CICS , BMC AMI Ops Monitor for Db2 , BMC AMI Ops Monitor for MQ , BMC AMI Ops Monitor for IP ) the Context field value is set to $SSI. Warning Note Specifying the Context field value using the wildcard (* or +) is not supported.
   System	Specify the name of the CAS system associated with the BMC AMI Ops product or leave it blank. To set this field value, you can also refer to the System field value displayed in the PLEXACT view. Warning Note Specifying the System field value using the wildcard (* or +) is not supported.
   Server	Specify the name of the server associated with the BMC AMI Ops product or leave it blank. To set this field value, you can also refer to the Server field value displayed in the PLEXACT view. Warning Note Specifying the Server field value using the wildcard (* or +) is not supported.
   Comment	Specify a description of up to 40 characters that describes the TCP/IP port definition.

   Warning

   Note

   You can exit the session without adding your changes. On the COMMAND line, type CANcel to exit without saving your changes.

3. On the COMMAND line, type End and press Enter to add the port definition.
