Add a New Repository

The Data Privacy Administrator can create a new repository and connect it to the Data Privacy Server when necessary. The repository can be added from the Resource Administration stack bar by selecting Manage Data Privacy Repositories.

To add a new data privacy repository:

  1. In the Data Privacy Menu, Resource Administration stack bar, select Manage Data Privacy Repositories.
  2. Click New. The Managed Repository dialog box appears.

    Important

The following steps may be slightly different based on the DBMS option selected.

  3. Enter a Name and Description for your repository. Repository names must be unique.
  4. Select the database type from the Type list.
  5. Enter the Server name for the repository.
  6. Enter the Port number for the server.
  7. Enter the Database/Location/SID for the repository.
  8. Enter the Schema if required.
  9. Enter the database User ID and Password.
  10. Click OK. Database scripts are run on your database to create the table and load the initial data. Therefore, keep the database up and running or you will get a connectivity error.

Your new repository now appears in the Data Privacy Explorer view.

Special considerations for Microsoft SQL repository

  1. When adding a Microsoft SQL Server repository, a database will be created if it does not already exist, or an existing database will be used if it already exists. It will also create a schema if one does not already exist.
  2. Trusted connection (Windows Authentication) support is available for Data Privacy Repository on SQL Server. This option will be available only for File-AID Services running on Windows Operating System. After selecting the Windows Authentication option you do not have to enter User ID/Password for establishing connection to the database. The trusted connection will establish the connection using your Windows user account under which File-Aid Services is configured.

Important

Windows Authentication option is applicable for,

  • Adding a new repository
  • Editing an existing repository
  • Connecting to an existing repository
