Using Task Scheduler to run a nightly process
If you do not want to alter your existing CDB Automator script or cannot access it for alterations, you can schedule the nightly process to run using the Microsoft Windows Task Scheduler.
To run a nightly process by using Task Scheduler
- Open the Task Scheduler by using the Computer Management console (all Windows versions).
- Click Create Basic Task.
- In the Create Basic Task Wizard dialog box, enter the task name and description and click Next.
- To select a schedule for the nightly process runs, click Daily.
The task recurs every day and runs after the Visualizer database has been populated. - Click Next.
- Select Start a program as the action of the task.
- Click Browse and navigate to the C:\Program Files (x86)\BMC Software\CMM\bin\BMCCMMNightProcess.exe file. Keep the Add arguments and Start in fields blank.
- Click Next.
Verify the summary of the task. Click Back if you want to change anything. Otherwise, click Finish.
The task is now added to the Windows schedule and runs at the specified time. Check the Application Log Viewer or Nightly Build Logs to ensure that there are no errors.
