Launching a CCS Console viewer

The CCS Console viewer is a single console viewer that is similar to a standard TN3270 emulator.

You can launch the CCS Console viewer from the CCS Consoles web page or from the BMC AMI Console Automation Viewer:

Note

Launching the CCS Console Viewer as an applet requires you to have Java 8 installed. Also, you must use the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser. You cannot use the applet on the Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, or Microsoft Edge browser.

Contact your IT department or administrator if the CCS Console viewer applet is disabled, or if you do not have access permission on your computer.

  1. Log on to BMC AMI Console Management.
  2. On the left navigation menu, click CCS Consoles.
  3. Click Launch Applet that is next to the console session that you want to access,
  4. After the Viewer is launched, enter your user credentials when prompted.
The CCS Console Viewer is launched as a Java Applet. After the CCS Console Viewer applet has been initialized, the product prompts you to enter your user credentials.

Note

Launching the CCS Console viewer using Java Web Start requires you to have Java 8 installed.

  1. On the left navigation menu, click CCS Consoles.
  2. Click Web Start that is next to the console session that you want to access.
Java Web Start initializes the CCS Console Viewer.

  3. When prompted, enter your user credentials.

Before you begin, download and extract the mvcm-viewer-3.4.11.zip file as described in Server fix pack for OpenJDK JRE 11.

  1. Run the mvcm-ccs-viewer.exe file.
  2. In the Host and Port fields, enter the host name and the port.

    Note

The host name is the computer name of the server that is running BMC AMI Console Management, and the port is the HTTPS port. The default port is 443.

After you enter the host name, the product lists the CCS consoles.

  3. Click Connect.
A new tab appears and the console is launched.
  4. When prompted, enter your user credentials.
