CCS consoles
The CCS Consoles page lists those consoles that have been enabled for operator use from this web page. If your administrator has created console groups then click on the icon next to a group name to expand it and see its consoles. The All group contains the complete list of consoles.
If the underlying CCS server for a console is active then the console name is a link that may be clicked on to launch it in a new window.
The console may be either a Java applet or a Java application depending on how your administrator has configured BMC AMI Console Management, if both are enabled then the console name will not be a link, instead you will see separate links to launch the applet (Launch Applet) or the application (Web Start).
If your administrator has enabled the application you may create a desktop shortcut that can be used to directly launch the console as if it were installed on your PC. The procedure used to create the shortcut depends on what browser you use:
- Internet Explorer—To create a desktop shortcut, right-click on the application link in the browser and select Save target as from the menu to save a .jnlp shortcut file.
- Firefox—When you click on the application link in Firefox, the Opening dialog box is displayed. It has the following options:
- Open with Java Web Start Launcher to run the application
- Save File to create a .jnlp shortcut file
