This section introduces the BMC AMI Cost Management (Cost Management) product, describing its architecture, user roles, and tools.
Cost Management provides interactive tools for comprehensive analysis of your IBM sub-capacity licensing costs across your mainframe system. As part of your cost-savings program, the BMC AMI Cost Management:
Utilizes the Universal Information Exchange (UIE) component running on the mainframe to populate data into Capacity Management Databases
Uses data retrieved from a Capacity Database Web Services server to create cost models
Allows you to enact effective plans to reduce your environment costs
Unifies the various components of your overall cost-saving solution by providing reporting, planning, and cost management capabilities
Utilizes cost analysis tools that can determine where and how to implement changes for maximum cost savings
