Types of business data


You can add the following types of business data to a Capacity Database Web Services server:

  • Business data related to object classes that are already defined in the core schema. You are required to define new relations for this business data.

    Warning

    Example

    • An IT service bureau that assigns a separate LPAR or VMWare partition to each customer and wants to keep daily or monthly revenue and expenses in the server.
    • An insurance company that wants to associate filed, processed, rejected, and paid claims with the applications that perform claims processing.
  • Business data related to object classes that are not defined in the core schema. You are required to define new object classes and new relations for this business data.

    Example

    A geographically dispersed manufacturing company that wants to keep production-related metrics in the server according to product type, department, and geographic location.

  • Business data related to a combination of object classes that are defined in the core schema and object classes that must be added to the schema. You are required to define new object classes and new relations for this business data.

    A catalog retail company that wants to store orders processed by different web servers by company division and product type.
