When the License Engine runs, it relates incorrect CIs to a software license certificate.

Categorization is too broad. Many CIs match the specified configuration.

View the license certificate as described in Reviewing, upgrading, and updating software license certificates. Make sure that the product name is specified.

Connection questions are not answered correctly.

View the license certificate and check the answers to connection questions. For more information on connection questions, see Overview of Software License Management.

Connection questions must be answered correctly to connect the correct CI to the certificate.

The license type is not correctly configured. When creating a license type, an administrator specifies how the connection question and answers map to CIs in BMC CMDB. An error can result in incorrect CIs being related to the certificate.

An administrator can examine the license type and also check the connection question as described in Overview of Software License Management.
