Configuring FTS High Availability failover after an upgrade

When upgrading to BMC Remedy AR System 9.1, it may be necessary to reconfigure the AR System Server Group Operation Ranking form to enable failover, ensuring that search requests are fulfilled if one of the indexer in your server group becomes unavailable. If you upgrade to BMC Remedy AR System 9.1 from earlier versions, consider the following:

  • Upgrading from 7.6.04, 8.0, 8.1, or 8.8: You should reconfigure failover in the FTS ranking form, after the upgrade is complete. In this case, an extra plugin entry ARSYS.ARF.FTS ARSYS.ARF.FTS is created on the indexer machine. There is no impact of this entry and you can ignore it.
  • Upgrading from 7.6.04 SP5, 8.1 SP1 or SP2: You need not reconfigure failover in the FTS ranking form.

To enable failover with the AR System Server Group Operation Ranking form, refer to Setting failover rankings for servers and operations.

For information on enabling FTS high availability, refer to Enabling FTS high availability.

For possible configuration of a remote index for use by Full Text Search in a recovery environment, see  kA014000000 .
