Approving and rejecting requests from Approval Central

Approval Central contains Approve Selected, Reject Selected, and Hold Selected buttons that allow you to act on multiple approval requests without opening them individually. You can also use the row-level icons for acting on individual requests.

To act on multiple requests

  1. Open Approval Central using one of the methods described in Opening Approval Central.
  2. In the Pending Approvals table, use the check boxes to select the pending requests that you want to act upon.
  3. Click Approve Selected, Reject Selected, or Hold Selected.
If the related approval processes require approvers to enter a password, the AP:Password dialog box appears. If necessary, enter your password when prompted, and click Submit.

    Note

When you click Approve Selected, Reject Selected, or Hold Selected, the status of the selected requests changes. These modified requests continue to appear in the Pending Approvals table until the table is refreshed, or until you navigate to another page or link. No undo option exists when you respond to a request so there is no opportunity to change your mind.

For more information, see Action buttons.

If you provide an incorrect password, the following error message is displayed:
Authentication failed. Please enter your valid AR System password. (ARERR 45490)

No action is performed on the selected requests.

To act on single requests

  1. Open Approval Central using one of the methods described in Opening Approval Central.
  2. In the Pending Approvals table, select the pending request that you want to act upon.
  3. Click Approve, Reject, Hold, Reassign, Approval Details, or View Questions and Responses.
For more information about the various icons, see Working with pending approval requests.
