Approver receives request but cannot respond

When approving or rejecting an approval request, an approver might encounter the following error:

You are not currently defined as an alternate for any user and you are not on the Approvers list for this approval. (ARERR 10000)

Check the following and take the necessary actions to resolve:

  • Is the approver's BMC Remedy AR System user name spelled correctly in the Validate Approver rule?
  • Is the approver designated as an alternate approver for a time span in the past or the future?
