Updating change history

For each server object that you create, BMC Remedy AR System server automatically records the owner (the user who created the object), the user who last modified the object, and the date and time of the last modification. You can view and, in some cases, modify this history information in the Change History category in Properties tab or (for forms) the Definitions tab.

To update the change history of a form

  1. Open the form for modification.
  2. Click the Definitions tab, and expand the Other Definitions panel and then the Change History panel.
  3. To change the ownership of the object, in the Owner field, enter the user name of the new owner.

    Note

    Any user with Administrator or Subadministrator permissions can modify a form, regardless of who the specified owner is for the object.

  4. In the New Description field, type information about the object or about the change that you made.
  5. Save the form.
    A time stamp, your user name, and the text that you typed appear at the beginning of the Change History field.

To update the change history of a field or of an object other than a form

  1. Open the object for modification or select the field in the form editor.
  2. To change the ownership of the object, in the Owner property, enter the user name of the new owner.

    Note

    Any user with Administrator or Subadministrator permissions can modify an object or field, regardless of who the specified owner is for the object.

  3. In the New Description property, click ellipsis (...).
  4. In the New Description dialog box, type information about the object or about the change that you made, and click OK.
  5. Select File > Save.
    A time stamp, your user name, and the text that you typed appear at the beginning of the Change History property.
