Managing Server Configuration

BMC Remedy Single Sign-On allows you to configure server details such as cookie name, cookie domain, session settings, log details, and SAML service provider details.

To edit server parameters

  1. Log on to the BMC Remedy Single Sign-On Admin console.
  2. Click General.
  3. Enter the details listed in the following table:

    Cookie domain

    The default cookie domain value is the network domain of the computer on which you are installing the server. The default cookie domain specifies the most restrictive access. This value is used to control cookie visibility between servers within the domain.

    Session Settings

    Max session time

    Time after which your session is logged out, even when you are active. When this value is selected, time constraints are automatically enforced. The default is 24 hours.

    The value for maximum session time is usually 4, 8, or 12 hours.

    Log

    Server Log Level

    Select the level of log details to be displayed from the drop-down list. The options are:

    • ERROR
    • WARN
    • INFO
    • DEBUG
    • TRACE

    CookieCookie nameThe cookie name is automatically created at installation, based on the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the BMC Remedy Single Sign-On host.
    SAML Service ProviderSP Entity IDThe prefix of SP entity ID. Each realm using SAML authentication will have a unique SP entity ID based on the value of this property with realm ID appended.
     External URLThe URL for IdP to redirect to for sending SAML response.
     Signing CertificateThe certificate used to sign a SAML request if Sign Request is selected.
  4. Click Save.
