Obtaining BMC Remedy license keys

You must obtain a BMC Remedy license key to install the AR System server. This topic includes the following sections:

A license key is a value that enables you to activate a license. In BMC Remedy AR System 8.1, only AR System server licenses require keys. Each key is tied to a particular host; a unique entry for each server is therefore required within the Add or Remove Licenses form. To request a temporary or permanent key, you must access the BMC Support Central Site at http://www.bmc.com/support.

Key type

Information required

Temporary

  • Support contract ID
  • Email address
  • AR System server version
  • AR System server host ID

Permanent
