Installation process overview

This topic describes the general installation process required to install BMC Remedy AR System.

Review the BMC Remedy AR System and BMC Atrium compatibility matrix for the latest, most complete information about platforms currently supported by BMC Remedy and BMC Atrium products.

Note

To access this information, you must log in with your BMC support login and password.

Review the requirements for your computer platform:
a. Review the hardware requirements for your computer platform.
b. Review the software requirements for your computer platform.
c. Review the 32-bit and 64-bit requirements for your computer.

Prepare your database before you start the installation.

Obtain licenses for BMC AR System Server and other BMC products.

Complete the MS Excel planning spreadsheet.

Download the installation files.

Prepare your environment to install.

Prepare your components and applications.

Run the BMC Remedy AR System installer

Run the AR System installation to install the AR System server and other features.

Back up the BMC Remedy AR System database. This enables you to restore BMC Remedy AR System to its pre-installation state if you encounter problems.

Note

The product workflow is installed in overwrite mode.

Run the AR System installation to install BMC Remedy Mid Tier.

Run the AR System installation to install the AR System Clients.

Perform the AR System post-installation procedures.
