Configuring BMC Atrium Integration Engine to rename the server

The following procedure describes how to update the server name for BMC Atrium Integration Engine.

  1. Within an administrative Notepad session, open the aie.cfg file, and change the AR System server name, user name, and password.

    Note

    To open Notepad as an administrator, choose Start Menu > Accessories > Notepad, right-click on the Notepad icon, and choose Run as administrator.

  2. If you change the user name and password, complete the following steps:
    1. From the Services panel, stop the AIE service if it is running.
    2. In a web browser, open IT Home, and click BMC Atrium Integration Engine Console.
    3. Select Configuration > Integration Engine App.
    4. Update the Admin Login Name and Admin Password fields.

    5. In the Help File Path field, replace the old AR System server name with the new name.
    6. Click Save.
  3. Run the REPAIR option for aiexfer:
    1. Open an administrative instance of Command Prompt.
      To do this, choose Start Menu > Accessories > Command Prompt, right-click on the Command Prompt icon, and choose Run as administrator.
    2. Enter the following command, substituting the <hostName>, <userName>, and <password> placeholders for the server that you are repairing:
      aiexfer.exe -REPAIR -x <hostName> -l <userName> -p <password> -path "C:\Program Files\BMC Software\AtriumCore\aie\service64
      The path to the service64 folder might be different, depending on the installation path chosen for the BMC Suite.
    3. Click on Start > Run and enter Services.msc to open the Services MMC.
    4. Right-click the BMC AIE Service, and choose Start.
    5. Ensure that the BMC Remedy Action Request System service is Started.
    6. In a browser, open the AIE Console via the Home Page form. (You must be logged in as an administrator.)
    7. In the left column of the AIE Console, select Integration Engine App.
    8. In the dialog box that appears, verify that the user name is an administrator within your system, and re-enter the password for that user.
    9. Click Save and close the AIE Console form.
    10. Restart the BMC AIE Service.
      To do this, choose Start > Run, and enter Services.msc. Right-click on the BMC AIE Service entry, and select Restart.
    11. In the browser, re-open the AIE Console and verify that you are viewing the Data Exchange screen.
    12. Open each Data Exchange entry and click the Instance drop-down menu.
    13. Select the Instance listed, and click Save and Close.
