Cannot connect to the Java plug-in server

If you configure FTS on a non-AR System server and arserver.exe or arserverd has trouble connecting to the remote Java plug-in server:

  • Add the plug-in alias name in your primaryAR host file. For example:
    <IPAddressOfFTSComputer> <computer>.<Domain>
  • From primaryAR, use the telnet command to verify that you can connect to primaryFTS on port 9998:
    telnet 9998
  • If you have multiple network cards on primaryFTS, verify the IP address used on port 9998. Your plug-in alias should resolve this IP address.
