Overwriting all fields in duplicate requests

When you specify the Overwrite action for handling duplicate request IDs (see Duplicate Request ID Action), the default behavior updates only the mapped fields on the target request. This section explains how to configure the Overwrite action to overwrite all the fields in the target request. (Mapped fields are updated and unmapped fields are set to NULL.)

For more information, see Request IDs in distributed environments.

To overwrite all fields in duplicate request IDs

  1. Stop the BMC Remedy Action Request System Server serverName service.
  2. Open the appropriate AR System server configuration file:
    • (Windows) ARSystemInstallDir\Conf\ar.cfg
    • (UNIX) ARSystemInstallDir/conf/ar.conf
  3. Enter the following flag to update mapped fields and to set unmapped fields to NULL:

       DSO-Merge-DupID-Overwrite: T
  4. Save the AR System server configuration file.
  5. Restart the BMC Remedy Action Request System Server serverName service.
