Designing an approval application

Before you begin to configure an approval application in BMC Remedy AR System server, you should think through your approval needs and the business processes that you want to implement with the approval server.

When you design an approval application, consider the process and rule types that are included with the approval server. Identify which process types are most appropriate for use in your application, and which rule types will best implement the decisions and transitions in your approval process. Also, identify where you will need to add BMC Remedy AR System server workflow to implement approval functionality, such as adding an active link to a button on your approval request form, or adding filters to start the approval process or to chain approval processes together. Also, identify which stages and statuses in the approval process should trigger notifications or escalations.
