There used to be an AE-RPC-Socket parameter.  Is this obsolete now too?

    I don't think it is.  See: https://docs.bmc.com/docs/display/public/ars8000/Configuring+a+private+queue+for+the+Assignment+Engine

What is the recommended setting for AE-Worker-Threads?  Are these threads only for logging?  That is what it looks like from the configuration form as the number of threads is only enabled when logging is enabled.

      Hello Scott,

Thank you for your comment. The AE-RPC-Socket parameter is not obsolete. The parameter is used in configuring a private queue for Assignment Engine.

The AE-Worker-Threads parameter can be used for logging, but not only for logging. The parameter is used for other assignment requests as well. The default value for AE-Worker-Threads parameter is 4.

      Hope that helps!

      Thanks,

      Prachi

Since you say that the worker threads are used for more than just logging, though they are enabled to be modified only if AE logging is set to enabled, does this mean that if a Private-RPC-Queue is set up for AE, it should be configured with the same number of threads as the number of Worker Threads?

          Hello Scott,

          Thank you for your comment.

Enable Assignment Engine log and Number of threads are two separate entities.

We have identified a UI defect that the Number of threads field is enabled only after clicking the Enable Assignment Engine log, and our team is working to get the defect fixed. Ideally, you should be able to set the Number of threads even when you do not Enable Assignment Engine log. Also, if you set up a Private-RPC-Queue for AE, it need not be configured with the same number of threads as the number of Worker Threads.

          Thanks,
          Sujata

If the default worker threads is 4, what would be the recommended minimum for threads in the Private-RPC-Queue for AE?
